    The first time we saw one was a few years ago when we found one in the kitchen that the cat had brought in. I didn't know what it was at first, it is a weird looking thing. Like a mixture of features from other birds. Shortly after that the cat came home with another one. Apparently they only visit the South West in the winter, and are usually nocturnal.

    I'd forgotten about this one. Was looking out of my window this morning at this field.... Look carefully in the foreground, there are four Woodcock hiding in the grass A bit closer.........
